Autumn stories: part 1

Gina Conway toned down highlightsSo what have I bought this month so far; not as much as I would like, that’s for sure!

My big news is my hair cut and colour done at Gina Conway Aveda in Wimbledon ( The lovely Cliff managed to do something rather awesome with my hideous blonde highlights, which were too blonde to start off with and got even more bleached in the sun.

He used a toner with a colour which literally just goes in after a shampoo and is then washed out after about 15 minutes. The result is fab, and takes me back to a far more natural-looking shade. The result is understated but much more me!

Apparently this should last around 5-6 weeks. Given that its only £20 this is worth trying if like me you are thoroughly fed up of your highlights!

GC salons are not the cheapest, but what I love is that the same person does your cut and colour, so you can be sure that the two will work well together.  As you can see from this pic, I’ve gone slightly shorter again with my hair.

In other, less understated, news I bought my first ever Models Own nail varnish today from Boots. I’ll be honest I was very drawn to the price, but I have been rather pleasantly surprised by the end result of “Northern Lights”. Here’s a pic using two coats. As always I use my OPI Nail Envy underneath, and I am currently using Seche Vite as a top coat.

Models Own, Seche Vite and OPI Nail Envy

This range has been around for a while, but I still think its fab.

Models Own nail varnishes retail for £5(bargain!).

Whats more,Boots are doing a special offer on Models Own stuff at the moment: buy 1 get one half price, so a great time to try their range of varnishes if you haven’t done so so far 😉
